Syria, Jordan sign MoU on freight forwarding

Four trucks loaded with different amounts of oils, citrus and fruit left Nassib border crossing heading to the Jordanian crossing of Jaber and from it to neighboring countries.

In the same context, the Syrian and Jordanian private sectors signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of freight forwarding.

For his part, Head of Syrian International Freight Forwarding Association, Saleh Taishori, said that the MoU stipulates for regulating the work between the two countries in the private sector under the laws in both Syria and Jordan and to put an end the subject of commissions and to create a better environment for cooperation between the two sectors in both countries.

He pointed out that the Transport Ministry in Syria has provided all efforts to reopen the crossing and to activate the transit line between Syria and the Arab countries.

He pointed out that despite all the damage caused to Nassib crossing, everyone is determined to provide all services to passengers in temporary centers.

Hashim Qasuma, Assistant Secretary General of the Association said that the MoU aims at overcoming all obstacles facing shipping companies, adding that it is a step to break the siege imposed on Syria.
