A statement issued by people in the occupied Golan after the meeting of Yafouri regarding the decision of the Israeli Minister to hold elections for the local councils in the Golan villages
In the name of Allah the Merciful We are the sons of the occupied Syrian Golan and we are meeting today in the place of Abu Dhar al-Ghafari, peace be upon him, to discuss the decision of the Israeli Minister of the Interior to hold elections for local authorities in our four villages and to take a unified position on this decision national.
After deliberation and discussion, and based on our pure national heritage – taking into consideration our civil peace and our national constants, and sticking to us the Syrian identity of the Golan land and people, We are aware of the dimensions of this resolution, which aims to legitimize the illegitimate institutions that originally represent the occupying power.
Based on the above, we would like to state the following:
1-We reject the decision of the Israeli Minister of the Interior to hold elections for the local authorities in our four villages and we do not accept to deal with this decision at all -in form and content.
2-We refuse to participate in any electoral process that will ultimately result in the representative of the occupying power and carry out its task.
3-We consider this decision as an attempt to sedition and fragmentation of society and its preoccupation with internal conflicts to facilitate the occupation authority to pass its projects of Judaization
. 4-We emphasize the importance of upholding the national unity of all the people of the Golan and the different political views. In order to confront the many occupation schemes that have recently aimed at sniping our Syrian identity, taking advantage of the tragic and unfortunate situation experienced by our dear homeland. In this context, we affirm that our national unity is the only guarantor to preserve the achievements of this society and its Syrian identity.
5-Anyone who accepts this decision will be out of our national consensus and will touch upon the inherited national principles and constitute an appeal to the dignity of this society at the core and fall under the rubric of the religious and social sanctuary
We have made this decision, relying on God and determined by our honorable national heritage and the protection of our children and our rising generations We pray to Almighty God that our dear homeland Syria will recover from its crisis to form for us and again the bond and shield as always
The people of the occupied Syrian Golan
